Warsaw, Poland
In February 2024, the “UKRAINIAN WARTIME POSTERS” were presented in collaboration with the Polish artists at the show “ART vs WAR” at the Okno na Kulturę gallery, Krakowskie Przedmieście 17 in Warsaw Poland. This exhibition was supported by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland and Centrum Mieroszewskiego. It joined 40 artists both from Poland and Ukraine.
This exhibition is a prime example of the cooperation between Ukrainians and Poles in the cultural sphere, demonstrating once again that art can be a powerful weapon against propaganda.
The murders of peaceful Ukrainians by Russians, the destruction of cities, the abduction and kids’ displacement — these and other horrific events have shocked the world. Artists, like millions of others, did not remain indifferent to these atrocities. The shock and reaction to the violence gave birth to new art forms: art as protest against the injustice and cruelty of Russia, art as solidarity with the victims of genocide, and art as criticism of the insufficient activity of the Western world.
Authors from Ukraine: Dmytro Dziuba, Mykola Honcharov, Zakentiy Horobyov, Oleksandr Grekhov, Oleg Gryshchenko, Artem Gusev, Albina Yaloza, Andriy Yermolenko, Katya Lisova, Anton Lohov, Maksym Palenko, Dasha Podoltseva, Oleksiy Revika, Oleksiy Sai, Dmytro Simonov, Mykhailo Skop, Nikita Titov, Mykyta Shylimov and participants of the group project "Art against War" (Kateryna Buchatska, Nikita Kravtsov and Misha Zavalnyi)
